16th July Little Cottage is just a delight! Fab location, weather has been amazing. Locals very friendly and helpful. We are in love with the log burner it just makes the cottage! Lovely walks, really really enjoyed ourselves. So relaxing, no mobile signal (woop!). Hope to return, would and will highly recommend! A haven for peace and quiet, Jeremy and Sally couldn't be more helpful, a delight to deal with. Thank you so much and have a great week yourselves! xxx

21st May 2011 Lovely as ever - see you next year!

10th May 2011 Lovely cottage, beautiful countryside, long walks, good food and wine and four seasons in one day!! What more could we ask for?

1st May 2011 A lovely cosy and welcomming cottage. A peaceful retreat - just what we needed. Followed the "Acorn" walk over the hills, fantastic views with perfect weather. Pub highly recommended - very friendly. The log burner stove is so fab! Thank you for a very comfortable, relaxing stay. Hope to come back one day

25th April A perfect retreat! It was our first visit to The Little Cottage in Wales, and the satnav done us proud! Our friends on the other hand have been before and got lost getting here... Luckily the pub was open and the locals made us feel welcome. We plan to have a relaxing holiday and not do much -- we read and ate and lounged around and explored the delights of Tuffins, which is a real Alladdins Cave! There are many great walks for the dogs and while the sun was out it was glorious. We managed to have a BBQ on our last day on te patio and enjoyed the Chimnea (we are curently looking at getting one ourselves!). The Little Cottage is very homely and cosy, we loved lighting the fire at night, but had to remember to duck when entering the lounge! Thanks for making our stay enjoyable, hopefully we'll return when the pollen count has fallen...

9th April 2011 We have enjoyed our stay - cottage clean, cosy and beds very comfortable. Village peaceful and locals friendly. Some lovely walks - though a bit too challenging for Perry. Loved the views (stunning) tranquility and nature, a great retreat!

26th March 2011 Had a fab week - many thanks. Lucky enough to get a mild / warm spring week. Enjoyed hilly walks, Ludlow, the Kite Centre and some great food at The Olive Branch Ludlow and The Herb Garden Llandrindod Wells. We enjoyed the cottage as a great retreat

14th March 2011 Lovely sunny walk on sunday on Glyndwrs Way from the cottage - lambs, celandine, bird song. Sat in the garden to eat our lunch. recommend visiting site of battle of Pilleth at Pilleth Church. Wood burner and heating a bit hit and miss but worked wonderfully on our third night. Now we're off home to our cats who can't understand why dogs have holidays with their owners - they (the cats) look after themselves.

5th March 2011 This was just what we needed, a complete break, quiet relaxing and stress free. Cottage is delightful and comfortable, especially after some of the big walks we managed throughout the week. Jackie and Paul at the Greyhound Inn were very welcoming and we really enjoyed their hospitality as well as meeting some of the locals in there, both two legged and four legged. The Elan vallet and dams are beautiful and Roxy enjoyed all the interesting smells. the Red Kite Centre is also a must. Seeing over 100 kites was amazing. The 100mph pub in Bledffa is sadly boarded up but there is a "sold" sign, so it may re-open soon. Thanks you.

24th February 2011 A really good short break away from it all. Thanks for letting us bring our eldest daughter at the last minute.

13th February 2011 I hope Jeremy sorts out the new heating system because we have spent four days / nights not being as cost as we would have liked. The Little Cottage is sweet and the area is beautiful - if we come back it will bein the summer.

Thanks for the feedback. We fettled it this weekend and we're pleased to report it's not working as axpected - Jeremy

21st November 2010 Yet again a relaxing weekend with or dogs Blue and Joey!

18th November 2010 The moment we arrived we loved it! Very clean and homely, this was a well needed break and we chose this as our last bit of peace before the baby is born (February sometime) we could not have chosen better. Love this cottage so much but don't think my head did, took some time to learn to duck but last day and got it sorted. Some lovely walks around here, just ask in the pub. Thanks for having this lovely cottage available to rent. the log burner is a must, it's been a blessing. I have put one on my Christmas list :) we plan to come back when the baby is old enough. No mobile signal FANTASTIC :) This place should be prescribed, it's heaven, so peaceful. Thanks

12th November 2010 Very peaceful - great centre for waking. Visiting some lovely places. Ludlow terrific for good local food, Presteigne very pretty, people everywhere very helpful and friendly. Good luck with the new wood burner!

8th November 2010 A lovely short break - lucky with the weather- it only rained at night, although cold (what can we expect in November!!) Will come back again next year, Thank You.

4th November 2010 A short break in very beautiful area. The sun came out but not for long! Good walking country, a comfortable stay. Thank you.

30th October 2010 Had great break with good weather for the time of year. Enjoyed good walks locally, Brecon Beacons, Offa's Dyke and Elan Valley. The red Kite Feeding Centre is well worth a visit and we have had good meals at the Horse and Jockey in Knighton. We were made very welcome at the local pub.

20th October A lovely break in a very comfortable cottage - the beds are great too! Recommend Clun, Elan Valley and Red Kite Feeding centre. Further afield - villages around Brecon.

14th October 2010 A very enjoyable two weeks in a cosy cottage with wonderful countryside. We can second the comments about the great meals at the Horse and Jockey and the Indian Restaurant.

2nd October 2010 We've had a lovely week in your delightful cottage. Peaceful and great countryside. Villiagers friendly. Another recommendation for the Horse and Jockey, w had two meals there. Allow dogs. There is a collie that runs loose on the road that leads to the railway station from the village. He belongs to the farm, will walk up to your dogs. Thanks for letting us stay here with our three. They've had a lovely time.

10th September 2010 We have had a lovely holiday. Cottage warm and cosy. Mixed weather but did not stop us enjoying the walks. We have covered a wide area of Wales also in the car, Red Kite feeding Station a must although we have seen a lot of Kites all over, even here in the valley.

1st September 2010 A brilliant visit thanks. So glad I subscribed to Cygnus Review, allowing for the spontaneous booking.

21st August 2010 Had a lovely relaxing stay, thanks very much.

14th August 2010 Lovely location and cosy cottage. The wood burning stove has been well used in the chilly evenings.

7th August 2010 A lovely stay. Good weather has allowed us to wander along many of the local walks and visits to Elan Valley, Radnor Forest and Waplay Fort. My girls could not have survived without their laptops, so they would like to thank you for that facility. I've developed a sudden ducking motion when nearing any doorframe due to five painful occasions when entering the lounge, hopefully this will pass when I get home! The pub is open, very friendly villiagers and Jackie will make you feel very welcome. Would love to come again in the future, many thanks.

31st July Cottage everything we expected - very accurate website. No problems, no gripes enjoyed our stay.

24th July 2010 Eaten well, rested well, marvelled at the scenery, warmed by the welcome from everyone we have met. Cottage is lovely and very well equiped. Many many thanks!!

17th July 2010 We have had a lovely stay in Llangunllo at the Little Cottage. It has been a relaxing weekend and a great break from the rat race! We have enjoyed exploring the local trails with our friends and both our dogs and it has been fantastic to come back the the cottage, fire up the Chiminea and crack open a cold one. Many thanks for a great stay keep up the good work.

Bobby the Welsh Terrier has enjoyed coming back to Wales and spending time with Ruby. He was sad that he missed the opening of the Greyhound.

12th July 2010 Had lovely relaxing stay. Enjoyed long walks with our Ruby the Ridgeback dog, she slept like a puppy all weekend! Joe loved making the fire inside and out so he always had things to do. Thanks for a fantastic stay in the Little Cottage.

6th July 2010 Would re-iterate one or two comments from previous holiday makers ie lighting in the lounge and a towel rail in the the shower room and also in the kitchen would also be useful. Otherwise the cottage lovely. Ppeace and quiet would you believe it? No wood pigeon waking me up with his / her cooing at 5.30am (and we don't live anywhere near a wood hmmm!) Sorry but I broke one of your matching small juice glasses, I have replaced it but unfortunately couldn't find the same match. Well, we've had really good weather and have enjoyed our holiday. Might come back but probably not for a year or two as there are other places we want to visit. A big thank you, specially to the locals who are so friendly and helpful.

23rd June 2010 Birds, Bees, Sheep and a Pig! Certainly beats traffic noise. Had a lovely wood burning stay. Prefer Presteigne to Knighton. Lovely weather all stay, made Elan Valley, Kite Feeding Centre and Offas Dyke even more special. Very pretty flowers in the garden. Namaste xxxx

19th June 2010 Wonderful restful holiday. Went out and about the area from Aberystwyth to Clun, Kington, Devils Bridge. Adored the Small Breeds and Owl Centre, a treat to be so close to the animals and birds. Also the Kite Feeding Centre. Plenty of new experiences to take home. Best of all were the wonderful trees in this part of Wales! A treat indeed!!!

5th June 2010 A cost little cottage in a lovely quiet village. Local people friendly and helpful. Surrounding countryside beautiful. There are some lovely places to visit - Ludlow, Powis Castle and the highlight, which was Stokesay Castle. Great weather as well!

26th May 2010 Great little retreat Big Up the Bus Shelter Inn, Elan Valley, Red kite Centre, Devils Bridge and Borth on the coast. Many thanks. P.S. Ty Morgans in Rhayader great hosts, great food.

22nd May 2010 Once again a lovely stay and will be back next year.

15th May 2010 We have had a happy time in The Little Cottage and on our excursions. We celebrated our wedding anniversary by going to church in the morning (9th) and a good lunch at the New Inn at Pembridge. We walked to Llangunllo station and met Annie and Stuart. We enjoyed Beacon Hill and many more walks. Also enjoyed our visit to Church Stretton again and the super antique market. Local people are very friendly. We liked Lyn, Corwen, Alex the Vicar etc not forgetting the wonderful pig. Only real downside the cooker, I don't know how to grill with it, but otherwise everything fine. Full marks to the cleaning lady for keeping it immaculate (thank you Sally for the extra day).

It has indeed been a super two weeks. Would recommend the local walks, specially the one to the source of the River Lugg. Lady in the Offa's Dyke Centre is very helpful. We have also walked to the source of the River Severn from the Hafren Forest. Also don't miss the red kite feeding centre. Also thanks to the cleaning lady(ies?) the cottage was immaculate on our arrival and again after the mid-term clean including bringing in logs! Jan initially thought the lounge was a bit dark but after a couple of hours found she still had her sunglasses on!! Many thanks again! H

21st April 2010 We have had a wonderful fortnight in your lovely cosy cottage. The setting is idyllic, the peace and quiet makes us want to stay forever. The locals have been very friendly and we have become semi-resident at the Horse and Jockey as they have welcomed us and our dogs. The food was very good.We have had perfect weather and seen mid-wales at it's best. My only one minor negative would be that the oven needs a little TLC? Thanks you very much - your cottage is a delight. (TLC has now been lavished on the oven - many thanks J & S)

15th April 2010 Again another great stay! A great rest, peaceful nights sleep and wood burning experience! Love the new colour of the kitchen :)
Shame the pub wasn't open - although we'll hopefully be back later on this year so fingers crossed!!

31st March 2010 Lovely location, cosy cottage and fantastic walks. We had a great time. Thank you.

6th March 2010 A wonderful wonderful week with blue skies every day. The Little Cottage was a joy to come back to every day after a day of walking. Everyone was very friendly where ever we went. A place we will definately come back to. Thank you so much.

26th February 2010 Had a lovely relaxing weekend which was needed. Comments from our son Phil and Catriona (see 12th to 14th December) are re-iterated. Definately come back again. Met some very interesting people and most had tales to tell of the pub that was. So would be great to see that open again. Thanks for a great stay.

12th February 2010 Had fantastic birthday weekend, just what we were looking for. Went for a beautiful walk (although our navigation skills could do with some work!). Perfect retreat to come back to eat cheese and drink wine by the fire! Will definately be back! Thank you Little Cottage.

18th January 2010 Thanks for another great stay! Back again soon!

8th January 2010 Great cottage - we came during the worst of the snow but we still stayed warm and well fed and were eventually able to get a train into Knighton to get a pub lunch at the George and Dragon. No complaints at all about the cottage, we had hot water, DVDs, comfortable beds and a well equiped kitchen. We hope to come back when there isn't a blizzard raging around us to take advantage of the local walks!

26th December 2009 Thank you S & J for a magical Christmas at The Little Cottage, a perfect end to 2009.

14th December 2009 The cottage is lovely and the location perfect. it was great to get away from it all for a few days! Will def recommend it and will be booking our next visit when we get home! Thank you! P S If you ever want to sell you've got our details!!!!

6th December 2009 What a lovely cottage, the log fire was great. Knighton and Ludlow were worth a visit. Planned to go for pub meal on the Saturday evening but changed our minds once the fire was lit! Stayed in drinking and eating watching X Factor instead. Didn't want to leave! P S Oscar loved sleeping in front of the fire. Will definately be back and will recommend.

28th November 2009 Well what can we say but Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! A few days were not enough! Perfect cottage, perfect setting and the dogs loved it. No mobile phones, log fire, a curry from Saffron and X Factor - the perfect evening! Thanks J & S for all your kindness and for letting us use The Little Cottage, we will be back very soon.

16th November 2009 Read all the comments. Nothing more to add. Excellent location Jemma loved the walks even though she sulked when it rained. Enjoyed the idea of a bus shelter as a pub!! Would come again next year (hopefully without the rain!!).

24th October 2009 We have slept a lot, eaten a lot and walked a lot. The Little Cottage has been a perfect place to do all of the above - many thanks.

16th October 2009 Lovely well equiped cottage and very comfortable bed - thank you. Could do with more light in the lounge - us old'uns can't see to read in poor light - we added one brighter lamp which helped, but a reading lamp would be better. The Elan valley on a glorious sunny day was incredibly beautiful - we visited every dam and every car park to stop for a walk. The Red Kites at Gigrin Farm were well worth seeing. We loved the mountain road to Devils Bridge (not a all difficult), but the steps down from Devils Bridge aren't for the faint hearted!

11th October 2009 Nothing too original to say that hasn't been written before. Really lovely cosy cottage set in the most beautiful part of the country. The kites at Gigrin farm is a MUST SEE! Also a trip around the reservoirs at Elan is spectacular - especially the mountain road to Devils Bridge. WHAT A DRIVE! We've really enjoyed our break here and will definately be back.

2nd October 2009 Very peaceful here. Bella our dog was amazingly quiet usually barks quite a bit at home as many distractions near where we live. Elan valley not to be missed!

27th September 2009 Lovely cottage, locals friendly at the bus stop pub. Yes there does seem to be a lot of west country accents! Thought I was back in Somerset although much quieter, less traffic and great blackberries if you walk up towards the station. great weekend, will come again for a week next time.

25th September 2009 Thoroughly enjoyable stay in this very well appointed and charming cottage.

12th September 2009 A lovely week in a little cottage with a bit heart. Thanks for the bolt (replacement for the bathroom door) it arrived in the nick of time, I'd lost my voice and I've never been able to whistle!

5th September 2009 What else can I say that hasn't already been said. Thanks for a great time in a great place.

29th August 2009 What a wonderful little cottage! really friendly village, we were made very welcome. Despite the weather we had some great days out. We would recommend Croft Castle near Ludlow, Gigrin Farm and Cantref Adventure Farm, all great for kids! We've enjoyed some fantastic scenery and taken hundreds of photos. Thanks for a fantastic week in a very cosy and welcoming cottage.

28th August 2009 Nice cosy cottage, the quietness took a bit of getting used to though. We had a relaxing break, just what was needed. Thank you. Love the pub (Bus Shelter!!) - although it would appear the seating is limited.....P.S. Beware of the vegetable peeler - it bites!

17th August 2009 Lovely cottage and a very relaxing holiday. Wish we could have stayed longer. It will be great once the pub is up and running. Would have loved to leave a little bit later than 10.

9th August 2009 Had a relaxing holday but don't have time to write anything as we are running late and the cleaners have turned up dead on 10am! Relaxing weekend would be good if we could leave about 12 on day of leaving especially when guests don't arrive till 3.

Feedback Noted! We've changed to checkout time to 10.30am by popular request, although we do need every minute of the changeover time for cleaning and maintenance to make sure the cottage is welcoming for our next guests. J & S.

8th August 2009 What a fantastic relaxing holiday!! Cottage is cosy and well equiped, absolutely loved the comfy beds especially the raised bed as we felt like children in a bunk bed!! Dogs thoroughly enjoyed the wood burner although so did Rob and Kev, I think they thought they were cavemen!! Absolutely stunning setting for a walking holiday - we enjoyed exploring the area and the dogs enjoyed all the new smells. Tuffins (behind Texaco garage in Knighton) was a treasuretrove - what an experience compared to the rat race of shopping in Birmingham - and really cheap too!! Thank you so much for a really restful break, we will definately be back...hopefully the Greyhound pub will be open. ALSO A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHO MADE US FEEL WELCOME.

4th August 2009 Very relaxing- cosy and warm cottage. Make sure you visit Gigrin Farm it's well worth the journey (half hour) the kites are in abundance. Nice walks round village of Llangunllo the dogs enjoyed the hill climb! Small Breeds farm in Hereford lovely. Got the chance in a lifetime to stroke "tame" owls. Hopefully will come back soon....very soon.

1st August 2009 This was the week when the weathermen decided they'd made a big mistake about a barbeque summer, never mind!!! We have had a lovely week relaxing and peaceful: Gigrin Farm red Kites, this was spectacular and well worth a visit. Elan Valley, can't remember the last time we saw dams everflowing with so much water...one advantage of rain. Presteigne and Judges Lodging House interesting and unspoiled. The pubs in Knighton really good for food and atmosphere we went to George and Dragon and Horse and Jockey, recommend both. A lovely comfortable cottage, a very friendly village and a beautiful unspoiled area. What more could you want?...a bit of sun maybe but it hasn't spoiled it and it's been a great week!

18th July 2009 Lovely cottage, beautiful scenery, had a wonderful time despite the wet weather. Highly recommend Radnor Forest for walking, the Knighton fish and chip shop and the Small Breeds / Owl Centre in Kington. Many thanks for letting us stay.

3rd July 2009 Aaaah!!! Bliss.........

28th June 2009 A lovely, albeit short break in your lovely cottage! We managed to keep our one year old twins entertained and even they slept through the night which makes a change. A stroll and drive round the Elan Valley was lovely. Would love to visit again for a longer break - thanks!

20th June 2009 We've enjoyed our weeks stay in your comfy cottage, set in a pretty garden.Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage.

31st May 2009 Perfect cottage beautiful countryside and sunshine every day!

25th May 2009 What a lovely little retreat - had a lovely few days here with my husband, daughter and boyfriend - very relaxed and smashing to eat breakfast and supper outside (weather very good!) Against a lovely backdrop of hills and perfect peace. So glad you take dogs - sometimes very difficult to find a place that will. We wish you continued success and hope the pub will soon be open - then it will be perfect!! Thanks very much!

23rd May 2009 We have spent a very happy and enjoyable week in The Little Cottage with Tilly our pet labrador.

11th May 2009 Lovely Cottage very peaceful went to see the Kites - fantastic! Also the dams. Wonderful weekend, had trouble finding the local shop and pub haha. George the dog enjoyed it, will definately think about coming to Wales again. But not sure if we would come to The Little Cottage, a bit too reclusive for us!

4th May 2009 Wonderful setting amazing surroundings little cottage is certainly worth another visit we may even have to borrow a dog so we can go exploring next time.

4th May 2009 What a wonderful place! The lovely cottage has been a fantastic place to spend the weekend and we have had a brilliant time. Stephen and Patrick enjoyed playing the organ in the church and we have been on some lovely walks. We have met some lovely people and enjoyed exploring the local towns. We hope to come again soon.

1st May 2009 The cottage is lovely, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. It is really well thought out, you are very kind and generous with your cottage. It has a well loved and peaceful atmosphere which is felt as soon as you arrive. The people in the village are lovely and spoke to us as if we'd always been there. Enjoy shopping at Tuffins, what a change from Asda! The local produce is excellent. Everthing during our stay was perfect even the rain didn't spoil our visit. The only comment I have to make which I hope you find helpful is that I couldn't make sense of the oven even though I used it and the food was cooked alright perhaps some directions could be left. Thank you so much. Enjoyed reading everyones comments and experiences and about their dogs took advice from them and enjoyed a meal at the Horse and Jockey recommend Elan Valley **** Ludlow *** Walking on Beacon Hill excellent! (Wild moorland).

1st May 2009 We enjoyed our holiday but it's not home and we couldn't eat our food, but still enjoyed our "treats" Lucy (Patterdale) and Wilf (Jack Russell)

21st April 2009 Very nice quaint cottage - peaceful and cosy - we enjoyed our stay and our dog (Macey) loved the area and her walks. Local people friendly, shame about May from New Zealand! Went to see Red Kites, great fun (cost £4 per person) what I want to know is how the Kites knew it was 3pm for feeding! Ha lovely visit - thankyou x

15th April 2009 What a lovely suprise! Warm, cosy and full of character. Highly reccommend the Horse and Jockey in Knighton (dog friendly). Great food and you can leave the wife outside!

10th April 2009 Once more, what a lovely cottage to stay in! We had a really good time, staying a week has been really good - lots of places to visit! Jess the dog enjoyed her stay too, even managed to get two boyfriends following her. Once more, thank you for the lovely cottage.

4th April 2009 Very nice and quiet relaxing cottage, really enjoyed ourselves. The countryside around is very peaceful with lots of walks which our 3 Jack Russells really got tired out. We had a day out to North Wales to Barmouth and Porthmadog and went to see the ospreys on their nest in Glasyn - well worth the drive. Knighton is a very nice town, Horse and Jockey recommended for sunday lunch - must book. We really likel to come back again - Thanks.

It's a lovely location and we've seen a lot of wildlife which we don't see at home. The log fire was a bonus, was a lovely atmospheric Christmas Day with it burning just like you see in a Christmas Card. Thanks very much for letting us stay, we know it's the first time you let it out over Christmas. Hope to be back again.

1st November 2008 I've really enjoyed my stay here - it's lovely, cosy cottage and very comfortable. I've not explored this part of Wales before and this is an excellent base for walks and cycle rides. I've also discovered that Llangunllo looks lovely in the snow!

Cottage lovely, relaxed as soon as we arrived hope to come back soon. P S Giraffe escaped from kennels, found him on doorstep Saturday morning, he kept his head down all weekend!!

30th September 2008 Excellent place to explore mid wales. Plan a longer trip next time. Very cosy, lovely setting. Would definately recommend. The dog agrees.

2th September 2008 The Little Cottage is such a great find. Cosy quiet and peaceful. A great place to unwind. The bus shelter pub is very friendly and welcoming to strangers with both two and four legs. A great shame the cottage is booked the week I'm free in November. Many thanks.

13th September 2008 The Little Cottage is an ideal haven to get away from it all, so peaceful and cosy. Would love to stay for at least another week as there is so much to discover! The resident robin showed up every time we sat out in the garden to serenade us with his song. Many thanks.

5th September 2008 A lovely cosy Little Cottage. Would come back and recommend to others. Such a shame the weather was bad, soaking us on walks which would be nice to come back to do in better weather. Many thanks.

2nd August 2008 Lovely lovely cottage in a beautiful peaceful setting. We relaxed as soon as we walked in the door. The cottage is perfect and so well equiped, lovely walks in the area, pretty little towns to visit. A lovely tranquil place & I know we'll be back! Thank you.

23rd July 2008 After arranging our wedding (but not our honeymoon), we just needed to get away fom it all. We were lucky enough to find the perfect place - The Little Cottage. Slightly odd for a honeymoon location perhaps but we love walking and cycling and mid-wales is the perfect location for that. Some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK but not at all "touristy" or over run by tourists - magic!

Thanks for providing a lovely little "bolt-hole" - we'll be back for more rest and recuperation later in the year.

And so it goes on.......
